Iā€™d like to welcome you to our website, which gives you an insight into our fantastic academy! As principal, I work with my committed team to provide every child an enriching curriculum and a vast range of extra-curricular activities to extend the opportunities of all of our students.

Our vision for Iceni Academy-Hockwold is to create a love of learning in a happy and secure environment, which inspires everyone to achieve their full potential and realise their passion for learning in whatever way suits their personal strengths and qualities.

We are developing a creative, dynamic environment that seeks to nurture our pupils, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

We strive for a first class learning experience for all, ensuring continuity between the primary, secondary and further education stages of learning.

  • To recognise the value and abilities of every member of our school community.
  • To promote The British Values and attitudes of care, tolerance, trust and respect within the school and wider communities.
  • To nurture and support, helping every child to achieve his/her potential in all areas of learning ā€“ intellectual, emotional, physical, social, moral, spiritual and cultural.
  • To ensure excellence in teaching and learning within a high quality learning environment, through leadership and within all aspects of school life.
  • To equip children with the resilience and perseverance to become creative and independent thinkers and to become learners for life within an ever-changing world.
  • To provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all.
  • To develop learning activities which stimulate positive models of enquiry, reflection, challenge and innovation.
  • To teach children the role of leadership of the world in which we live.
We work very closely with parents and strongly believe in the collaboration between home and Academy to share the learning and celebrate the achievements of everyone. Every child has the ability to excel and we help them to do this.
We welcome visitors to our academy, so please ring and make an appointment to come and see us.

Today it was Outdoor and Adventurous trust activities: here we see the children challenged to work together to stay on the tarpaulin. Then one was blindfolded! Their ideas were brilliant as to how to stay on! Check out Facebook for more photos.

Oak PE - Athletics session 1. The importance of speed and how to get faster. We decided that it's about grit, determination, head down, pumping arms, leaning forwards and stream-lining. Such an impressive bunch of accomplished athletes OR improving ones!

Notice for parents: we have decided to postpone Sport Day today. The weather looks unsettled the ground will be too wet to ensure safety during races. Provisional date has been set for Tuesday 2nd July at 1.15pm.

Take a look at our Facebook page to see all the photographs from our morning at Easton and Otley College. We've found out just how important English and Maths are; we've also been inspired by the variety of choices open to young people after finishing school.

Here we are at Easton And Otley College finding out more about the courses which might interest them in the future. Straight in with the tractors. šŸ™‚
